Steve-O's Home!

So Steve has been home for about 3 weeks now and we are finally starting to get into a "routine" if you will. Normal life is fast approaching! We both have a three day weekend and then on this coming Saturday he starts taking day and a half long trips on the Railroad. But then he will be home for a day and a half. Now I just want him to keep doing the Monday-Saturday 8-5 schedule! Oh well.

But Steve pointed out a blog some friends of his from high school started called, "The Making of a MILF" about these 2 girls trying to lose the baby weight. I added it to mine and I am excited to see how it goes because I am in the process of that too!

Life as I know it.....

First and foremost I am not complaining! I would like to vent.... Life is hard right now. Steve works away in Utah drilling for 20 days straight and when he comes home it is rush and go here and there and do all these activities so we have quality time. I work full time and Isaiah goes to a fantastic sitter in my ward but of course I miss him all day long and cry every night before I go to work because its hard to leave him. So then I don't do chores when Steve is home so we can have more time together and when he goes back to work, like today. And this set he is on nights, (gotta love shift work) and we won't be going to see him because it is just too hard working around his sleeping during the day.

So this week at work I had a breakdown to my totally amazing Director of Sales Tenae, and I have a new lease on what I am going to be doing day to day. Why should I be stressed about doing everything in the 10 days that Steve is home!?!?!? So from now on, we are just going to relax and not really go anywhere. And I will be coming home on my lunch hours to do some chores and then I won't be up until the wee hours of the morning getting them done. I don't feel the need to go see all of our families in a whole Saturday trip. Not that I don't love my family and his, but Steve, Isaiah and I are our own little family now and we need to focus on us. Not that we won't go see our families, but they can come to Pocy too.

So, Steve-O, it's just us and our Little Bear when your home. But you still have to take out the garbage and cook that so yummy food that you do!

First... Taste of Cereal!

So today was Isaiah's 4 month doctor's appointment and I got the OK from Dr. Smith to give him cereal. (Sad, our doctor is moving to SLC to work Primary Children's) So this evening for dinner, he ate about 1/2 a tablespoon of oatmeal cereal mixed with formula!!!!

At first he was not sure what I was holding up to his mouth because at this point he knows what the bottle is and opens his mouth for it. And he stared at me when I put it in his mouth for a few seconds and started sucking. It took a minute but he started warming up to the idea. He started putting his finger in his mouth to try and figure out what was going on... but he liked it and opened his mouth for more. But halfway done he got tired of that because it was almost bedtime and he just wanted his bottle since he had shots today. (Yes, I cried more and longer than he did)

Overall, it was a good first experience. Now I just need to fear allergies... I almost want to sleep on the floor next to the crib just in case. I have a sleeping bad in the closet, maybe I will...

My mistake on Eastern Europe!

So Steve's job has been in Salt Lake City, Utah since November, but at any moment he could be shipped to almost anywhere. Nevada, California, Arizona and even Alaska. Right now he has a chance to go to any of them in the next couple of weeks, but he wants to go to Alaska... it's 40 MILES FROM RUSSIA! So I cracked a joke and said on his days off I could come up with the baby and we could go to Europe for cheap since he would be so close. I have never been outside of the U.S. and Steve has. He said, "Honey, you don't get it... if hell was on Earth, it would be Eastern Europe. You don't want to go there." And laughed at me like he could not believe what just came out of my mouth!
How was I suppose to know?!?!?! He proceeded to laugh at me some more and bring the example from the movie EuroTrip to my attention, "Remember when they get stranded in a Russian village and live like kings for a few days off of 40 cents? That was in Eastern Europe."
Thanks to my dear husband I have been set straight and we will not be going to Eastern Europe, ever.

The 1st Post!

As I am new to whole blogging world... please allow me time to get used to it. Over all, for now Steve and I are trying to figure out how to be parents and so far I think we are doing pretty good. Right now he works in Utah at Kenecott Copper Mine and is gone 3 weeks at a time and I work for the Holiday Inn Pocatello. Hopefully soon we will have some fun stories to tell on here, but for now its just a Hello Blogspot!
